Privacy policy
What we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how to make us stop. In the same plain English we use everywhere else on this site.
Last updated: 23 August 2026Privacy policy in full
1. The short version
If you read nothing else, read this.
We collect your name, email and WhatsApp number when you fill in a form on this site, register for a class, or download the free chapters of our book. That is essentially it.
We use it to reply to you, to send you the thing you asked for, and to send you occasional finance tips. Nothing else.
We do not sell your data, and we do not pass your details to anyone for their own marketing.
You can leave at any time. Reply "stop" to any WhatsApp message, click unsubscribe in any email, or write to us and we will delete what we hold.
2. Who we are
This website, harshilandsajal.com, is run by the team behind Especia Associates LLP, a firm of Chartered Accountants founded by CA Harshil Goyal and CA Sajal Goyal.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here. That simply means we are the ones responsible for it, including when someone else is handling it on our behalf.
You can reach us at accounts@especia.co.in or +91 93101 65114.
3. What we collect
Only what a form actually asks for, plus some ordinary technical information that every website receives.
| Where | What we collect |
|---|---|
| Contact form | Your name, business name if you give it, email address, WhatsApp number, which service you are asking about, and anything you write in the message box. |
| Free book chapters | Your name, email address and WhatsApp number. |
| Class registration | Your name, email address and WhatsApp number, and whether you attended. If you ask a question during the session, we see that too. |
| Becoming a client | Whatever your engagement needs, which will include business financial records. That work is governed by our engagement letter with you, not by this page. |
| Just visiting | Your IP address, browser and device type, which pages you looked at and how you arrived. This is collected automatically and does not identify you by name. |
We do not ask for, and do not want, your PAN, Aadhaar, bank details or passwords through this website.
4. Why we collect it
The law requires us to tell you the purpose, item by item. Here it is.
- To reply to you. If you fill in the contact form, we use your details to get back in touch.
- To send you what you asked for. The book chapters, the class joining link, the templates.
- To remind you about a class you registered for, by email and WhatsApp, before it starts.
- To send occasional finance tips and session invitations. You can stop these at any time without affecting anything else.
- To understand what is useful on this site, so we write more of what people actually read.
- To meet our own legal and professional obligations as a firm of Chartered Accountants.
We do not sell your data. We do not rent or trade mailing lists. We do not pass your contact details to another business so they can market to you. If that ever changes, we would ask you first, not bury it in an update to this page.
5. Your consent, and taking it back
We rely on your consent, which you give by choosing to fill in a form. We ask for the smallest amount of information that makes the form work.
Withdrawing consent is meant to be easy, and we have deliberately not hidden it:
- Reply STOP to any WhatsApp message from us.
- Click unsubscribe at the bottom of any email.
- Or email accounts@especia.co.in and ask us to remove you.
Withdrawing consent stops future contact. It does not undo anything already done lawfully while your consent was in place, and we may still keep records we are legally required to keep.
6. Who else sees it
We use a small number of well-known services to run this website and communicate with you. They process data on our behalf, and we remain responsible for it.
| Service | What it does with your data |
|---|---|
| Our website host | Stores the website and the form submissions that come through it. |
| Our CRM and messaging tools | Hold your contact details so we can reply to you and send the emails and WhatsApp messages you signed up for. |
| Zoom | Runs the live classes. If you join a session, Zoom receives your name and joining details. |
| Google Analytics | Tells us how many people visited and which pages they read. It does not tell us who you are. |
| Meta (Facebook and Instagram) | A Meta pixel on this site helps us understand which of our advertisements bring people here, and show relevant ads. See section 7 if you would rather it did not. |
| YouTube | Hosts our videos. Note that our video players do not load anything from YouTube until you click play. |
We may also share information where the law requires it, for example in response to a valid legal order, or where it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim.
Some of these services store data on servers outside India. Where that happens, it is done in line with what Indian law permits.
7. Cookies and tracking
This site uses cookies and similar technology for three things: keeping the site working, measuring how it is used, and measuring whether our advertising is worth the money.
Turning it off
- Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. The site will still work.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser opt-out add-on.
- You can control ad personalisation in your Facebook and Instagram account settings.
Videos on this site do not load anything from YouTube until you actually press play. Most websites embed videos in a way that contacts Google the moment the page opens, whether you watch or not. Ours does not. It also makes the pages faster.
8. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that go nowhere: we delete the contact details after about three years of no contact.
- Newsletter and class lists: until you unsubscribe, and then we keep a minimal record so we do not accidentally contact you again.
- Client records: for as long as the law and our professional obligations as Chartered Accountants require, which is usually longer.
- Website analytics: retained according to the settings of the analytics service, and not tied to your name.
If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will, unless we are legally required to keep it.
9. How we protect it
We take reasonable security measures, including limiting access to the people who actually need it, using reputable service providers, and keeping our systems updated. Our firm follows documented, certified processes for handling client information.
No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather say that plainly than promise otherwise. If a data breach happens that affects you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
10. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Know what we hold about you and what we have done with it.
- Have it corrected if it is wrong, incomplete or out of date.
- Have it erased, unless we are legally required to keep it.
- Withdraw your consent at any time, as described in section 5.
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become unable to act.
- Complain, first to us and then to the Data Protection Board of India.
Email accounts@especia.co.in with your request. We will confirm your identity first, so that nobody else can ask for your data, and then respond as quickly as we reasonably can.
11. Complaints
If something about how we have handled your data bothers you, tell us first. Most things are a misunderstanding or a mistake, and we would rather fix it than have you take it further.
Write to accounts@especia.co.in with "Privacy" in the subject line. If you are not satisfied with how we deal with it, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India, which is established under the Act and accepts complaints from data principals.
12. Children
This site is for business owners, and nothing here is aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect the personal data of anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their details, tell us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell the people on our list rather than expecting them to notice.
This policy describes how we handle personal data collected through this website. If you are a client of the firm, the engagement letter you signed also applies, and it takes precedence where the two ever differ.
Ask us. A person will reply.
If any part of this page raises a question, write to us with "Privacy" in the subject line and we will answer it properly.
